ISAs (Individual Savings Accounts)
 
A tax free way to save. ISAs were launched in 1999 by the government to replace two previous personal savings schemes, the PEP and The TESSA. ISAs are personal savings accounts where you hold several types of investment within a tax -sheltered wrapper. Inside your ISA wrapper your could for instance hold stocks and shares, insurance, or a mixture of these. There are two basic types of ISA:

The Maxi ISA

A Maxi ISA will allow you to use your full ISA allowance of £7000 this year and in subsequent years. Your ISA can be managed by a provider, allowing you to hold more than one investment component in a single ISA.

The Mini ISA

A Mini ISA allows you to include only one investment component (e.g. Stocks and shares, insurance , cash per ISA, but you are entitled to three mini ISAs in any one tax year. Your allowances for a mini ISA is £3000 per year in stocks and shares, £1000 a year in insurance and £3000 cash in the first year, then £1000 thereafter.
 

Please note that you must choose between either the Maxi or the Mini ISA, if you choose a Maxi ISA you are not entitled to also have a Mini ISA in the same tax year and Vise versa. Our Independent and qualified consultants can assist you in deciding which ISA product suits your situation.

BONDS
